“My eyes shed a tear after seeing something that I had never witnessed living in the United States. As we drove towards east part of Karachi, Pakistan we came across a cluster of children playing in an open deserted field. They were running around enjoying themselves and one child caught my eyes as we passed. She was playing without shoes. As a matter of fact, most of the kids were not wearing shoes. I mentioned it to my husband who was beside me in the car and to him this was a normal scene that they encounter every day. This was the norm for them but to me this made a great impact in my life & my perception towards the less fortunate. At that moment I questioned myself, “What is my main purpose in life”? Is it to accrue wealth & fame? What happens after I achieve wealth & fame? Would I be satisfied spiritually? Was I sent here for another purpose? Trying to find answers to my questions I came to a conclusion that the principles of equality and justice in life only exist through our actions”.
These were her words and through this Aisha Hassan founded Forgotten People Organization January, 2015.
