 LIVELIHOOD &  EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM

To help empower a poor woman in a poverty nation such as Bangladesh, a formal education in health, family planning, food security & access to productive resources is the most effective way to help them.  Women are the backbone of global economies and they hold the key to a hunger & poverty free world.  They are the driving force of change in the developing world, but lack the tools & resources to succeed.  Supporting these women in education, training in leadership & providing them with proper resources will enable them to improve their families lives.

Our educational programs are designed to empower poor women & help them understand the importance of their existence in society.

VOCATIONAL SKILLS PROGRAM
A sewing machine is one of the simplest and most effective resources to give to a woman in a poor country to help empower her to earn a respectable living as a seamstress, and support her family to rise out of poverty. For women who have no formal education and therefore no access to decent, well-paying jobs, vocational skills like sewing hold an important alternative. In societies where there is discrimination and a lack of security, earning a living as a seamstress is a means to independence and empowerment for women in the safety of their own homes. To you and I, a sewing machine might mean the occasional mending of clothes, but to a woman and her family somewhere, it is a powerful weapon against poverty.
