WATER FOR LIFE PROGRAMS

The beneficial effects of providing sustainable safe water wells:
  • Prevents the spread of waterborne diseases that claim the lives of many thousands of people in slum areas
    • ​​Waterborne diseases such as cholera which is one of the main causes of death among children
      • ​What is cholera?  Cholera is caused by consuming water that has been contaminated with types of bacteria knows as Vibrio cholerae.  The main symptom of this disease is severe watery diarrhea, along with vomiting, that can lead to dehydration
      • How is Cholera spread?  Unprotected water source, drinking water, stool, contaminated foods & dirty hands.
      • How to prevent Cholera?  Providing potable & safe drinking water, good sanitation facilities, health education & good food hygiene.
  • Prevents dehydration among the population
    • Benefits of staying hydrated
      • Physicial Performance Level in temperature climates
      • Mental performance such as visual vigilance, anxiety, fatigue, visual working memory & impaired motor performance
      • Prevents health issues by removing toxic waste, normalize blood, balances body fluid & protects major organs such as Kidney
  • Puts an end to poor children having to travel long distance to find safe water for drinking & cooking
  • Improves level of sanitation among the population ​​
