SOLAR Powered Water Well Pumps (Syria)
The Syrian Civil War in 2011 killed thousands of innocent people and has displaced many families around the bordering neighbors of Syria in refugee camps.
The heat temperature in the area where these camps are reaches up to 100 Fahrenheit and the only water they have access to is contaminated water. With no option and the heat temperature at 100 Fahrenheit they are forced to drink the contaminated water which is causing water borne diseases among the children & adults in the camps.
There are 8 Syrian Refugee camps that are situated in an area without electricity and these campsite needs a solar powered water pumps to run the electric water wells. At the moment the Syrian Refugees have to walk 1 kilometer to access clean drinking water.
The total cost of the water well is $3,660.00 and the breakdown of the cost of the well is as follows:
Water Well (1) (400 Watts & 1/5 inch of water pumps) - $1,100.00
Solar Panels (8) (which each generates 1 horsepower) - $250 X 8 = $2000.00
Water Tanks (4) (10000 liter) - $140 X 4 = $560.00
