FORGOTTEN PEOPLE ORGANIZATION &
UNITED NATIONS SDG GOALS

In 2015, world leaders gathered at the UN to adopt 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve several extraordinary things by 2030: end poverty, promote prosperity and well-being for all, and protection of our planet. The SDG's set a course to achieve these objectives – for people everywhere.

FPO believes that Involvement & Contribution is essential for the success of all United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

We support the following SDG's

SDG GOAL 1 - NO POVERTY

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
People in Bangladesh that reside in refugee camps such as Adamjee Camp, Narayanjang are still living in extreme poverty and are struggling to fulfil their basic needs like health, education, food security, access to clean water and sanitation.  We support SDG 1 "NO POVERTY" by incorporating it as part of our programs & projects among the Pakistani refugees of Adamjee Camp.

SDG GOAL 2 - ZERO HUNGER

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
We support SDG 2 "ZERO HUNGER" by providing food security through our Food Distribution & Home Gardening Programs.  The Home Garden program incorporates growing fruits & vegetables in Rural & Urban home areas to increase the supply of fresh, nutritious produce to improve the underprivileged people's economic access to food.

SDG GOAL 3 - GOOD HEALTH & WELL BEING FOR ALL

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
Health is a fundamental human right and a key indicator of sustainable development. Poor health threatens the rights of children to education, limits economic opportunities for men and women and increases poverty within communities.   Health is impacted by poverty and strongly connected to other aspects of sustainable development, including water and sanitation.

In order to address  health challenges among these poor communities we developed several programs that support SDG Goal 3.  FPO's Health Program that provides community health clinic access for the poor, WASH program provides access to clean water, sanitation infrastructure & hygiene management and Educational Programs on Menstrual & Personal Hygiene Management to help in prevention of infectious diseases.

SDG GOAL 5 - ACHIEVE GENDER EQUALITY AND
EMPOWER ALL WOMEN & GIRLS

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
To help empower a poor woman in a poverty nation such as Bangladesh, a formal education in health, family planning, food security & access to productive resources is the most effective way to help them.  Women are the backbone of global economies and they hold the key to a hunger & poverty free world.  They are the driving force of change in the developing world, but lack the tools & resources to succeed.  Supporting these women in education, training in leadership & providing them with proper resources will enable them to improve their families lives.

FPO's Livelihood & Empowerment Program gives women equal rights to economic
& natural resources through our Vocational Skills Program.

SDG GOAL 7 - ENSURE TO AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, SUSTAINABLE & MODERN ENERGY FOR ALL

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
FPO'S WASH (Sanitation) PROGRAM introduces the Eco-Toilet.  An Eco-Toilet is a toilet that uses no water at all & recovers a majority of human “waste” nutrients.  While conserving precious water, energy and material resources, eco-toilets recover nutrients essential for sustainable agricultural systems.   The Eco-Toilet system at the moment proves to be the best solution to turn the polluting liability of human waste into clean water & nutrients.   Unlike flush toilets, which treat human manure as waste, Eco-Toilets reclaim and recycle nutrients — using the same biological process as garden composting piles to break down excreta, or human manure. What's left is nutrient-rich organic matter which can be used as a soil amendment.

Compost can be produced through a number of methods, but SOLAR COMPOSTING is one of the most efficient way to create  compost more quicker & with less manual labor.  We opted to use SOLAR POWER not only to power our ECO-TOILETS to help speed up the process of composting human excreta into an organic fertilizer but also to power up the lights in all the toilets.  Solar Power is the most affordable, reliable & sustainable energy to use in refugee camps such as Adamjee Camp for affordability.

SDG GOAL 15 - SUSTAINABLY MANAGE FORESTS, COMBAT DESERTIFICATION,
HALT & REVERSE LAND DEGRADATION, HALT BIODIVERSITY LOSS

DONATE TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM
FPO'S Vetiber Grass Program as part of our WASH & HOME DEVELOPMENT programs promotes reforestation of vegetation in Ukhiya Camp, Bangladesh, where the Rohingyan Refugees Deforested the Ukhiya area for building their homes & cooking fuel.   Due to deforestation, major landslides occurred during monsoon season among the Rohingyan refugee camp dwellers thus causing fatality.  The Vetiber Grass helped to prevent soil erosion.

It has been reported that our Sanitation & Water projects in Ukhiya camp
survived the latest monsoon season due to vegetation planting.
